At Drive West Communications, we help generate compelling stories and drive information to the public. We work with Fortune 100 companies, large government agencies and other prominent clients across the country—all with awesome causes to promote.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Build relationships with journalists and creatively pitch compelling stories
Research and help identify social and news trends affecting clients’ businesses/causes that may be of interest to media
Prepare media lists
Assist in writing engaging communications materials, including news announcements and reports for clients
Assist in development, execution and tracking of strategic communications plans
Manage various communications projects for multiple clients concurrently
Assist with social media strategy and content
Desired Skills and Experience
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including persistent follow-up
Creative, analytical thinker
Self-motivator with ability to accept direction and work independently
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat
News and social media junkie
Ability to adapt quickly to meet reporter and client needs
This is an hourly contract position based in Houston with up to 10% travel.
